W Cape | | About this breeder: | African Alpacas imported the foundation herd of 60 alpacas in Nov 2000. Since then over 230 alpacas have been specially imported from breeders in Australia and Chile for new breeders. Besides being the leading importer and breeder in S Africa, Gavin also started the SA Alpaca Breeders' Club, promulgated the Breed Standards and liaised with SA Stud Book for local alpaca registration.
Gavin has also arranged seminars and workshops and invited foreign experts to stimulate our fledgeling industry.
