Description
Imported from New Zealand in 2023 Thistledown Belluno has a lovely easy temperament like both his Sire, Surilana Silvertail and his Dam Thistledown Sorento, who are both calm, and quiet animals and easy to handle. He has a very strong frame on him and stands up very proudly. His fleece has excellent length of lock, exquisite lustre with a lovely handle and soft cool feel due to its fineness and uniform of micron, a trait common in all Thistledown breeding.
Thistledown had two very similar warm black Silvertail offspring born in 2019, Belluno and Colorado, both have Dams who are Damali daughters. Damali had amazing density and lustre and Kashmir is the son Thistledown kept to replace him. She chose to use release Belluno for export to UK as Colorado carries more diverse genetics appropriate to her breeding programme. Colorado already has champion winning progeny on the ground in NZ.
Thistledown Belluno has a number of progeny on the ground in New Zealand and his true black son Shadow Wood Bessano at just 6 months old won the Suri Best of Colour trophy (similar to a colour supreme), Champion Black Suri and Res Champion best junior male, at the Waikato show in New Zealand so his progeny is really making an impact!
Belluno's Dam, Thistledown Sorento is one of Thistledown's best breeding females and is the Dam of multiple champions in NZ.

Belluno's show carreer in New Zealand was cut short by the Covid lockdown years.
