Description
Lizzie is being sold as a non-breeding female after both she (and her dam on the two occasions she was pregnant to date) failed to produce milk for their cria. While Lizzie (just like her dam) fell pregnant straight away, they both had only minute amounts of colostrum and later on milk, leading to their cria being exclusively bottle-fed after receiving plasma transfusions.
We feel very strongly that is isn't a trait that should be passed on further and have retired Lizzie from breeding.
However, she has an absolutely stunning fleece and would make a tremendous fibre producer for an owner of females who wouldn't want to breed from her. We just got her fleece stats back (details below) and are a little surprised at how much they have deteriorated; in the two previous years, the fleece weight has come in at around 2kg with a staple length of 10+ cm. Despite the fleece changes, this year's blanket has already sold for £34 to hand spinners and is definitely still lovely to use.
Lizzie is happy to walk on a head collar and will take treats out of anyone's hand without hesitation, so might also make a great addition to a customer-facing business.
Lizzie will only be sold to a preexisting herd or into a newly-formed herd of at least 3 girls. We currently have a selection of females with and without cria at foot in various colours for sale and a starter herd could be chosen from those.
