Description
Kassius holds great promise, with an excellent pedigree and superb fleece. His pedigree reads like a who's who in the alpaca world:
- Pperuvian Vengador and Sweet Dreams Zaccoyo/Victor's Vaccoyo on his dam's side, and
- Jolimont Peruvian Sweet Wiliam, Jolimont Peruvian Pauco and Jolimont Peruvian Waratah on his sire's.
Kassius is certainly living up to our expectations. He has grown over the past year, his fibre is dense and exhibits high frequency crimp and brightness.
Kassius was shown in the 2010 Keystone Alpaca Classic, just missing out on a top 6 placing, and the judge commented on his bright fleece and extremely long staple, but felt that he still needed to grow a bit. He has certainly grown up since then.
Kassius will be ready to start his breeding career in the summer of 2012, and he would make an excellent herdsire for a farm wishing to incorporate such proven genetics into their herd.
